Traveling to Bhutan: Visa
A Bhutanese visa is mandatory before traveling to Bhutan. A registered tour agency in Bhutan will process it after finalization of the tour itinerary. Pre-planning is required before you fly into Bhutan.
Except for visitors from India, all other visitors traveling to Bhutan need a visa. All tourists traveling into Bhutan must obtain a visa clearance. Bhutan visas are processed through an online system by your local licensed Bhutanese tour agency.
After finalization of the Bhutan tour cost itinerary, you have to e-mail a color photo page.
of your valid passport and visa form duly signed with details. The visa will be processed by the Department of Immigration. Once processed, the visa issue to your agency will be provided online, and the same will be forwarded within 5-7 working hours.
Regional tourists who are Indian nationals can obtain an e-permit at the port of entry or through your agency. One has to produce a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months’ validity or a voter card. Indian nationals can obtain a Voter’s Identity Card from the Election Commission of India.
Regional tourists who are getting to Bhutan from land can show bookings of hotels in Paro or Thimphu for processing manual permits for entry into Bhutan.
